The Ninja Path is not just about accumulating points, but about learning, applying knowledge, and sharing it with others.

We recently celebrated the Ninja Awards, an event organized by the Learning team to recognize the most outstanding participants in this gamified excellence program at BBVA Technology América.

During the event, the structure, evolution, and purpose of this professional development initiative were presented — a program designed to foster continuous learning, collaboration, and growth within BBVA Technology América.

A journey of progress through stages

With Alejandro Aquiles as the event host, attendees learned how Ninjas progress from white belt to black belt, earning points through learning, experience, community, and teamwork. As they move up levels, challenges increase and commitment deepens:

  • Yellow belt: 100 learning points
  • Orange belt: 500 learning points
  • Green belt: 1,500 learning points
  • Blue belt: 4,000 points + 120 experience points
  • Brown belt: points earned through teamwork
  • Black belt: requires demonstrating impact in communication, community, experience, teamwork, and learning

Learn, share, and grow

During the event, it was emphasized that the Ninja Path is not just about accumulating points, but about learning, applying knowledge, and sharing it with others. Activities that contribute points include workshops, hackathons, talks, collaborative sessions with other teams or countries, and any initiatives that promote collective learning.

“Even a black belt keeps learning,” Alejandro highlighted, reminding everyone that professional growth does not end with a milestone, but is fueled by consistency and curiosity.

Congratulations to all the Ninjas who continue advancing on this path of growth!
Because at BBVA Technology América, learning is also leading.
