This strategic transformation marks a turning point in our more than two-decade history at BBVA Technology América.

We are adding new specialized services for the Group’s global units beyond the technology sector—which we previously served exclusively—by creating specialized service centers. These centers support the Global Risk Management (GRM) and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) areas across three continents: the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

With this milestone, BBVA Technology América is expanding its focus and broadening its offering to provide specialized support in key business areas, adding capabilities in risk, finance, operations, security, and quantitative analysis.

This step aligns with the BBVA Group’s strategic vision to leverage BBVA Technology América’s competitive advantages while maintaining the quality of existing services. Key expected benefits include a constantly growing ecosystem of specialized talent, an ideal time zone for continuous operations in coordination with Spain and other Group countries, and favorable tax and regulatory conditions. To achieve this, a standardized management structure has been established to preserve the company’s technological core while facilitating the scaling of critical services from the Americas to the rest of BBVA’s geographies.

“This is a historic milestone for the company: it is the first time in over 20 years that BBVA Technology América is expanding its services beyond the tech sector. Choosing us as a strategic lever highlights our central role within the Group’s global ecosystem,” noted Robert Altes Solis, CEO of BBVA Technology América.”

Growth projections and the arrival of new profiles

The launch of these new specialized services not only reinforces our company’s positioning as a central hub for global services but also drives internal growth. Currently comprised of more than 800 employees, primarily in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) areas, we project adding over 120 new profiles by the end of 2025 and continuing our growth into 2026, mainly in disciplines such as finance, risk, security, software development, and data.

This growth represents a key opportunity to diversify professional profiles within our organization, thereby creating new career development pathways both in Mexico and across BBVA’s international ecosystem.
